Jarrison Time offers a variety of methods to automatically export data out the system. A useful method for many users seeking data ready for Business Intelligence, or other third-party software, is using Jarrison Time’s own export table. This feature offers to export the data into a dedicated SQL table within Jarrison Time’s database, to be read by another application. The export allows for a configuration of columns, much like any other report or export, which then write values directly to the table.
For more advanced situations involving different kinds of exports, multiple tables can be setup to keep data siloed.
Let’s start with the steps involved in setting up a single table export.
1) Navigate to the Setup menu, and select Export Creator. This will open up a window containing the existing exports you have in Jarrison Time (which will likely differ from the screenshots).

2) From the Export Creator window, click the Add button. Add any name you’d like to associate the new export with, and tick the SQL Table checkbox in the File Details block to enable the functionality. The Path and Name aren’t necessary for this export type.

3) Select the Details tab at the top of the window. In this tab, you can add all relevant data that needs to be exported to the SQL table. To keep it simple, the example below includes the employee number, as well as Normal Time, Overtime and Annual leave hours of each employee, respectively. Additional data can be added as needed.

NB: Don’t forget to set all hours-based categories as Export Triggers (as seen above), ensuring the export will be processed if any one of those categories have valid hours.
4) Once all steps are complete, save the changes and close the window. From here, filter a group of (or select all) employees you’d like to export. Navigate to the Export window, select the newly created export from the list, choose the relevant date range, and click on the Export button.

Once exported, a confirmation prompt will appear, displaying the number of records that were exported.

6) Provided that the above conditions were met, the data will be present in the JTime database table named .JT_Data_Export. The screenshot from Microsoft SQL Management Studio below demonstrates the data we extracted from the steps above. All columns before Data01 are auto-generated, and cannot be omitted. The main focus will be on the columns from (and including) Data01 onwards. The third-party system should be configured in such a way that it only fetches the valid data as positioned in the table.
The SQL data table can quickly build up data if repeated exports are performed, and the third-party system may not respond well to duplicate records. To remove all data, Jarrison Time has a Clear Data Export Table option in Setup > System Configuration > Misc that can be used.

Multiple Table Export
Using multiple tables works much like using a single table, with the additional step of selecting which table to work with. For this reason it’s best to be familiar with the above steps of working with single tables before continuing.
To setup multiple tables:
1) Navigate to Setup > System Configuration > Misc, and tick the Use Additional Export Tables checkbox. A spinbox is available to specify exactly how many additional tables are needed (in our example, we’ll add 2 additional tables). Save the selection and when prompted, click Yes. A message will appear shortly after, confirming the creation of the new, additional tables.

In Jarrison Time’s database, additional tables will be suffixed with _Add0x, “x” being the number of the SQL table.

To use the additional tables:
1) Navigate to the Export Creator, and either add new exports for the additional tables, or copy an existing export and change the table detail. To link an export to a specific table, the spinbox next to the Export Table No text can be adjusted. Note that 0 is the default (single) table, 1 would be the first added table, 2 is the second additional table, and so on.

It may be useful to include the table number being used in the Name of the export for later reference.
Exports using various tables, like any exports in Jarrison Time, can be automated through Planned Events.
When needing to clear multiple tables, the options after Clear Data Export Table is clicked are presented in sequence of Default, Add01, Add02 etc.
Click Yes or No according to what you want to clear or keep.
